97 - Identity Crisis

A diabolical psycho puts CURE in the family way.

Bloodlines

Could Dr. Harold Smith be Remo Williams's biological father? Not only is Remo a few decades behind in Father's Day cards, but the discovery has sparked the volatile relationship between Remo, a very jealous Chiun, and Smith - who can't let his own son remain CURE's expendable enforcement arm.

But in his padded cell, one of CURE's archenemies has been quietly regaining his extraordinary mental powers. His evil mind is culling gray matter and projecting diabolical illusions, putting a dizzying spin on real world events. The whole "family ties" freak-out at CURE is his brainstorm...and it may be enough to destroy the secret crime-fighting organization forever.

My Humble, Yet Wise, Comments

Uncle Sam and the Dutchman - the biggest and toughest foes since the renegade Nuihc was defeated years earlier - are BOTH at it, while Remo is preoccupied with finding his father (even going to the extreme of having a police sketch artist draw his mother, as seen in a vision.) Smith sends Remo's son on a mission - to kill Smith - and Remo does not even know he has this son!

Add to all this the fact that the DEA and IRS have just raided and seized Folcroft Sanitarium, thanks to some beyond-the-grave doings by Friend, and we have some really interesting goings-on!

There's several TONS of gold sitting in Folcroft's basement, IRS and DEA agents running around the place like annoying ants, and strange visions assailing everyone in the sanitarium.

We get to see our government at work...
