Remo Williams, the human superweapon, is trapped in a Washington maze of spies, sex and psychiatry.

No, not a bet at great odds. Rather a .357 Magnum bullet. A high-powered projectile beautifully designed to do a specific job very efficiently. Blam! Another shot, and Remo realized that he was on the short end of a zeroing-in process. What a way to spoil a guy's day off at the golf course!
He charged toward the sound of the rifle-fire. First straight and fast, then sideways without changing direction...and another bullet whizzed past. Stop, slow roll to the right, leading the marksman. From right to left, dodging, weaving, swerving, traveling the fairway like a crazed pinball, closing the distance between himself and the sniper. Then he saw him. Them! Three face-blackened commando-types, paratroop boots and dull-green uniforms. Wow, just like a James Bond movie!
Later, after messing up the greensward a bit, Remo called his chief to report that CURE, their secret organization, was no longer secret. And perhaps the Destroyer was getting too popular after all.

A nut case has the ability to plant commands deep in the minds of important government officials. A destroyer tries to ram the Statue of Liberty, politicians go on bizarre killing sprees (and they're not even postal workers!), a dud nuke is dropped on a garbage dump. The reason? The U.S. government is for sale, and these demonstrations prove that someone has the power to deliver! (more so than usual.)
The highest bidder will control the highest offices in the land, and only the Destroyer can stop them. With a little help from Chiun.
This is EARLY in the series, and I always like seeing how Remo's Sinanju skills are still in their infancy, not nearly as deadly as in later years (two decades later.)
