A mad scientist sows the seeds of disaster |
DON'T BREATHE THE AIR
| They are tiny, genetically engineered
blue seeds that mature quickly into trees that literally suck all the oxygen
out of the air. They're the twisted experiment of the earth-friendly but
highly secretive Congress of Concerned Scientists, and now they've been
snatched its head, Dr. Hubert St. Clair. Having killed off all but one of his scientific team, he's leading Remo and Chiun on a chase through the proverbial forest. He's got enough seeds to choke off the world's oxygen supply, and the ability to create environmental disasters at will. Battling everything from acid rain to blistering heat to frigid cold, the Destroyer races to thwart double disaster in the Amazon rainforest: St. Clair is planting seeds like a maniac and a U.S. President prepares to nuke Brazil onto oblivion. |
Another great addition to the series by Jim. The stage is set for the Dutchman's return, Chiun is obviously setting Remo up for some type of Assassin's contest or duel, nut-ball scientists are out to end the world, and Sting gets stung. It's also a return of sorts to the series roots. The damsel in distress is a brainiac with 38dd's - Remo's type. At least the 38dd's. We also start to see the effects of time on Chiun, and the maturing of Remo. A little. It does not help matters that Chiun tosses another challenge out for Remo - a final test he must pass before ascension to reigning master.
I'm getting the distinct impression that the series is either ending soon, or taking off in a new direction altogether. Lot's of old nemesis's are returning for final showdowns, Smith's replacement is in place, and Chiun is set to retire. All that's left is for Remo to take on a pupil.
