| I discovered the Destroyer comics quite by accident two years
ago. There's a lot of conflicting information on these, and the details I provide here are
from personal experience. From what I see, there were three different comic series
and a compilation book. Magazine Style: 8x11 inches, color cover, black and white inside. More realistic style of art. Comic compilation book: 7x10 inches. Contains the first four magazine sized books - but in color. Click here for a sample from the book, or click here for a sample of the original, uninked art! Comic Style: Two different series.
6.5x10.2 inches, color inside and out. Typical comic art and colors. One series of four
and a "series" of one. |
Hands-down the best of the batch, these featured color covers
and nice
quality black and white contents. Many had comments from Chiun and
other special tid-bits. Some were original stories, others based on
some of the books. A couple of the covers are really idiotic (like #4 and #7).
In my opinion, #1 has the best cover, with #2 a close second.
The biggest difference - and discrepancy between these and the
books,
is the fact that Con Maccleary is still around and Remo is developing slower.
Plus that "bulls-eye" T-shirt...
